Farm Tours

We are happy to welcome guests to the farm and the best way to do that is to arrange a tour. Feel free to bring your garden club, a church group, those out of town visitors or even your home-schoolers. All we ask is that you give us a call to arrange a time. School groups and other groups of 7 or more are asked to pay a nominal fee of $5 per person.

Depending on the tour scheduled, you may be able to watch the goats being milked or maybe even try your hand at it. Come into the cheese kitchen and see where and how the cheese is made. Tours take about 45 minutes and end with a cheese tasting. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the farm afterwards.

From one of our friends, Lin Frye:
The bar was raised yesterday at the Alamance Paint-Out -- held at Elodie Farm (www.elodiefarms.com) -- a goat farm featuring gourmet dinners on the porch, fabulous goat milk cheeses, and a wonderful painting opportunity!

Cheese Making Class

Anne is a former teacher who loves to show folks how it’s done! While we do not have a regular schedule of classes, we can always arrange to work a group of 4 to 10 folks and spend the day making two or three cheeses. These days include lunch.

School visits

If you would like to bring your students out to see the farm, we’d love to have you. The day of the visit, we keep a couple of goats off the milk line so the children can give milking a try. We show them around the kitchen and explain how the cheese is made. A visit with the goat kids is always a hit and later you can sit by the pond and enjoy your lunch.

Conferences, Weddings, Parties

We are in the process of building a new facility which we hope to have open mid summer 2008. Our new building will be available for weddings, receptions, parties, conferences, meetings and retreats. Groups, both large and small, are welcome to make plans to use the new space. In addition to a large open area, the facility will include 4 meeting rooms designed to hold 12-15 people, a balcony space for private dinner parties, a “bride’s room” for those final touch ups and a wrap around porch for our monthly Dinners on the Porch.
